Funeral services for Mr. Darryl A. Rich of Heathsville were held on 1 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Willie Chapel Baptist Church in Merry Point , Virginia with Pastor Rose M. Curry, officiating.

Darryl Artice Rich was born September 19, 1965 to Columbus and Cynthia Rich.

At an early age, he joined the Willie Chapel Baptist Church in Merry Point , Virginia .

Darryl was such a loving son, father, and brother. He enjoyed life and all it offered. He always took time to visit the young and old. He had a heart of gold, whatever he could do to help his parents was done without hesitation. We can’t imagine not seeing his smile or sense his humor. He always’ had a joke to tell.

For many years he was employed a the shipyard in Newport News , Virginia and later he was employed in the roofing industry.

On Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Rappahannock General Hospital , Darryl was called home. He was preceded in his journey by his sister, Shelia Rich.

Cherishing fond memories of a beloved son, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend are his wife, Rosemary Wright; two children: Mia (Charles) and Dwanna Owens; six grandchildren, four step children; his parents: Columbus and Cynthia Rich; six sisters: Debra Isbell (Scott), Alfredia Murphy (Chris); Cheryl Rich (Chris), Elaine Noel (Larry) and Yvonne Thomas (Mike); his grandmother, Grace Rochelle; his aunts, Diane Henderson (Wendell), Martha Smith (Lawrence), Brenda Ballard, Carolyn and Marilyn Rochelle; his uncles: Wayne (Elizabeth); Cornell (Ilethia); Kirk (Taffee), and Michael (Gladys) Rochelle; Frank (Blanche) and Paul (Angie) Rich; a great uncle, Charles Smith; special cousins: Gary and James Rich whom he called big brothers; a special friend, Doris Martin; a host of many loving nieces, and nephews that he adored.

Interment services were held at the church cemetery where his pall bearers were: Jermel Rich, Jerquis Rich, Alonzo Watts, Kevin Rochelle, Wendell Henderson, and Darrell Tiggle. His floral bearers were family and friends.

Services of Comfort and Trust entrusted to the Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home, Berry O. Waddy, Manager.
