Born October 22, 1939, to the late Dorothy Jones and Roger L. Williams, Sr., Roger was raised in Annapolis, Maryland and graduated from the former Wiley H. Bates High School.

A former member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Annapolis, Maryland, Roger began his affiliation with the apostolic faith in 1977. He was baptized under Bishop C. M. Wright at the First United Pentecostal Church in Annapolis, Maryland, now known as Antioch, the Apostolic Church. Roger continued in his devotion to the apostolic faith and later became an Elder at two separate congregations within the apostolic community.

Roger’s favorite pastimes included hunting and studying the Bible. He was successfully self employed as a self taught carpenter and barber for many years until his illness prevented him from working.

In 1993, Roger was introduced to Vanessa Ann Noel, whom he affectionately called “Hun” and on June 26, 1999, they were joined in holy matrimony. This union bore no biological children, but Roger was blessed with four children he loved and thought of as his own.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Williams, and leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Vanessa Williams of Reedville, VA; children: Dwight Williams of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Wayne Williams of Virginia Beach, Virginia Kimberlee Nick of Annapolis, MD; Roger Williams of Washington, DC; and Myrna Cooper of Annapolis, MD; a sister, Myrna Harris of Annapolis, MD; stepchildren: Terry Turner of Los Angeles, CA; Terry Noel of Lancaster, VA; Shukura Shine, Joy Noel and Skylar Noel all of Reedville, VA; daughter-in-law: Yvette Williams; sons-in-law, Woodrow Nick and Donell Cooper;

He also will be greatly missed by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, devoted friend, Edward Cockrell, special friends, Phil Brown, Harold Little, Greg Tyler, Will Noel, Mike Denette and best friend, Ledgend “Goo” Noel, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
