Funeral Services for Mrs. Dora Lee Ball of Oldhams will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 1 P.M. at the Lyells Chapel Baptist Church in Warsaw with Pastor James Johnson, Officiating.

Dora Lee Ball, daughter of the late James Edward Gerald and Polly Gerald was born September 15, 1927 in Mullins, South Carolina.

Dora joined Lyells Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.

Dora was a kind and loving person to everyone she met. She was a caring mother to all of her children.

She slipped into eternal rest on Monday, May 26, 2008 at the Carrington Place in Tappahannock, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Curtis.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Reverend Calvin Brown (Barbara) of Chesapeake, Virginia; two daughters:: Shirley Weldon of Oldhams, Virginia and Callie Barber of Callao, Virginia; three sisters: Doris Spencer Charlotte Courthouse, Virginia; Idabel Smith of Columbus, Georgia; and Pauline Gerald of Charlottesville, Virginia; one brother, Roosevelt Gerald of New Jersey; two brothers-in-law: William Spencer of Charlotte Courthouse, Virginia; and Oscar Ball of Haynesville, Virginia; four sisters-in-law, Gustella Ball of Haynesville, Virginia; Mary Dorothy Kelley of Lancaster, Virginia; Doris Newton of Richmond County, Virginia; and Beverly Gerald of Louisa, Virginia; 11 grandchildren: Dora Wilson (Vernell); Calvin, Jr.(Deauna); Maurius (Kirsten); Craig (Carissa); Walter, Jr., Lawan, Jessica, Curtis, Jr.; Michael, Jennifer, and Tammy (Chris); five great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and other relatives.

Interment services were held at the Mulberry Baptist Church in Warsaw where her pallbearers and floral bearers were: friends of the family.

Services of Comfort and Trust entrusted to the Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home, Berry O. Waddy, Manager.
